Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is recruiting for a Head of Planning & Procurement in Chichester. The role focuses on leading procurement strategy, supply chain operations and inventory planning to ensure smooth material flow.

Key duties include developing procurement strategies, managing supplier performance, overseeing forecasting and inventory levels, and driving ERP-enabled improvements across the function. The candidate will mentor the planning team and support senior leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in manufacturing procurement and planning.
• Deep knowledge of procurement, supply chain and inventory planning.
• Experience managing and developing a team.
• Strong ERP knowledge and ability to optimise processes with technology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical and strategic decision-making ability.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for timely, cost-effective acquisitions.
• Manage supplier relationships, contracts, performance, and quality standards.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and implement contingencies.
• Oversee forecasting, planning and inventory levels aligned with production needs.
• Collaborate with production, logistics and finance teams.
• Utilise ERP to manage procurement, inventory and supplier performance.
• Lead ERP process improvements related to procurement and supply chain.
• Lead, mentor and develop the procurement and planning team.
• Manage procurement budget and monitor KPIs.
• Contribute to senior leadership decision-making and wider initiatives.
