Job summary

ShareAction is seeking a Strategic Fundraising Advisor on a freelance basis for approximately 12 months. You will provide senior external guidance on how ShareAction raises funds, primarily supporting the Head of Business Development and COO.

This advisory role is non-operational, focusing on strategy, pipeline development, and donor network expansion. The role can be remote or hybrid, with potential in-person collaboration in the UK.

Qualifications

• Significant senior-level experience leading a fundraising team in a UK charity.
• Knowledge of trends in UK and international trusts, foundations and philanthropic giving.
• Existing contacts within UK philanthropy, trusts and foundations, and/or HNW donor circles.
• Knowledge and experience of donor stewardship and major gift fundraising.
• Comfort offering candid, constructive challenge to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Review fundraising strategy, plans and pipeline.
• Mentor Head of Business Development and COO on major gifts fundraising.
• Identify and prioritise new funding opportunities among trusts, foundations and HNW individuals.
• Make introductions and advise on approaching prospects.
