Job summary

Common Purpose is seeking a proactive Fundraising Lead to grow and diversify its income. You will work closely with the Managing Director of Social Value and the CEO to identify funding opportunities, build relationships with funders and craft compelling applications to trusts, foundations and statutory bodies.

This hands-on, remote-friendly role requires an excellent writer with initiative to develop a robust funding pipeline and report on outcomes, helping secure income for our programmes.

Qualifications

• A track record of researching, developing and submitting funding applications to trusts, foundations or statutory bodies.
• Excellent writing skills to produce clear, persuasive applications and funding propositions.
• Ability to research funders, identify opportunities and build a proactive pipeline.
• Strong relationship-building with funders and ability to develop multi-year partnerships.
• Commercial awareness to prioritise opportunities with highest potential.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple applications and deadlines.
• Analytical ability to track opportunities and manage income with understanding of budgets.
• Collaborative approach to work with colleagues across the organisation.
• Motivation to secure resources to enable Common Purpose to deliver its work.

Responsibilities

• Find funding opportunities by researching trusts, foundations, statutory funding programmes and other income sources.
• Write compelling funding applications and manage deadlines.
• Build and manage a funding pipeline and prioritise activity by potential value.
• Develop relationships with funders and explore multi-year awards.
• Communicate impact by gathering evidence and developing persuasive funding propositions.
• Monitor income against targets and ensure funder reporting requirements are met.
• Explore new income streams including corporate partnerships and major donors.
• Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities and support fundraising priorities.
