Job summary

Great Places Housing Association is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead the strategic and operational management of its fleet, ensuring safety, compliance and cost-efficiency. You will drive procurement, new vehicle mobilisation, and a long-term replacement strategy while delivering value for money and a high-quality service to colleagues and customers.

The role involves strong leadership, data-driven decision making and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing a commercial or operational vehicle fleet.
• Experience leading fleet procurement, tender exercises and supplier negotiations.
• Strong contract and SLA management experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and identify improvements.
• Commitment to understand challenges in the communities we work in; lived experience in social housing values welcomed.
• Willingness to work flexibly when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the fleet.
• Oversee procurement and mobilisation of new fleet vehicles; develop long-term replacement strategy.
• Manage fleet budgets, maintenance programs, fuel costs and lifecycle performance.
• Negotiate contracts, suppliers and SLAs to achieve value for money.
• Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, health & safety, and policies.
• Analyse fleet data and produce reports to improve performance and reduce costs.
