Job summary

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Fleet Manager to lead the Transport Department at our Malvern workshop, ensuring a safe, compliant fleet of appliances, cars and vans. You will shape procurement, manage maintenance regimes and collaborate across stations in two counties.

The role requires NVQ4 or equivalent, a CPC in National Road Haulage, IRTE membership or equivalent, a valid driving licence, and strong people and budget management experience.

Qualifications

• Educated to NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
• A recognised management qualification.
• Membership of IRTE or equivalent.
• Certificate of professional competence in National Road Haulage.
• Current driving licence.
• Considerable experience of people and budget management in fleet.
• Experience in using fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Transport Department and the fleet to support safe and effective operations.
• Oversee maintenance regimes and workshop logistics to ensure compliance.
• Participate in design and procurement of new service vehicles.
• Ensure fleet assets meet legal and operational standards.
• Work across fire stations in both counties and may involve remote tasks.
