Job summary

The Disabled Workers Co-operative Ltd. is seeking a Deputy Head of Fleet and Engineering to support the Head of Fleet & Engineering in a wide range of management activities, policy development and deputise where appropriate/when required.

You will oversee light vehicle procurement, support budget setting, plan within budget parameters, evaluate vehicle types for consideration, and liaise with vehicle builders on safety and interior equipment enhancements.

Qualifications

• You will be a good communicator with experience in managing staff and supervising teams.
• Experience in a workshop environment/management (minimum 2 years supervisory) is desirable.
• Budgetary control experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Fleet & Engineering in a wide range of management activities and policy development, and deputise when required.
• Oversee management of light vehicle procurement and vehicle systems enhancements, including safety features and interior equipment.
• Support budget setting within present parameters and plan for future budgets, with monitoring of downtime, risks, and performance indicators.
• Ensure supervision procedures are followed, manage absences, training needs, and knowledge sharing in the Fleet & Engineering team.
