Job summary

KCR in Consett is seeking a Financial Controller to lead all financial activities, reporting to the MD and ensuring accurate monthly management and statutory accounts.

You will own budgets, forecasts, tax filings, cashflow, and intercompany transactions while liaising with the team on costings and external reporting. The role requires a qualified accountant or equivalent experience, with strong IT skills including Xero and Excel to drive financial performance.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or qualified by experience.
• Strong IT experience with Xero and Excel.
• Experience producing management and statutory accounts and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Producing monthly management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Responsible for budgets and forecasts and reporting to senior managers.
• Dealing with corporation tax, VAT returns and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Liaising with team members to discuss progress on job costings.
• Analysing project costings against revenue.
• Exploring and applying for grant funding opportunities and applications.
• Dealing with payroll and submitting PAYE and VAT to HMRC.
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Cashflow management and intercompany invoicing.
• Carrying out credit control and arranging terms.
• Providing accounting information to external bodies.
