Job summary

Customs Support Group, a fast-growing international customs services provider, seeks a Financial Controller UK & IE to lead the UK and Ireland finance functions from Felixstowe. You will own month-end close, reporting, budgeting, cash flow forecasting and financial controls, partnering with senior management to drive performance.

You will manage a finance team, coordinate external audits, ensure tax compliance, and support acquisitions while fostering continuous improvement and data-driven

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Strong practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
• Solid knowledge of accounting and finance best practices.
• Strong understanding of UK tax requirements, regulations and financial compliance.
• Experience in fast-paced environments and driving process improvements.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office 365 and ERP systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and LucaNet advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process with timely management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure quality, accuracy and timeliness of financial information for stakeholders.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow projections with insights for senior management.
• Maintain robust financial controls and governance across UK & Ireland.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Oversee VAT and corporation tax, liaising with external advisors.
• Lead external audits and statutory accounts preparation.
• Provide financial analysis to support business decisions and projects.
• Coach and develop the finance team for high performance.
• Travel occasionally within the UK & Ireland as required.
