Job summary

Marks Sattin is recruiting a Financial Controller to oversee the full financial operations of the organisation and an associated property development entity. The role partners with senior leadership to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient financial processes.

Key duties include cash flow forecasting, daily banking, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and statutory returns, with a focus on multi-entity controls and project cost monitoring. The position is based in the UK on-site.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in preparing and interpreting management accounts.
• Proficiency with financial software (e.g., Sage) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain rolling six-month cash flow forecast.
• Produce and monitor three-year cash flow forecast with covenant calculations.
• Complete daily bank reconciliations and manage sales invoicing.
• Oversee purchase ledger, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
• Administer monthly payroll including pension auto-enrolment and statutory compliance.
• Manage employee leave, sickness, statutory payments and wage compliance.
• Handle customer and supplier queries and provide daily updates to senior management.
• Prepare monthly credit card reconciliations for both entities.
• Produce month-end and year-end management, statutory and financial accounts.
• Support external audits and monitor KPIs with variance reporting.
• Submit monthly CIS returns and quarterly VAT returns for development entity.
• Monitor development and construction projects, including drawdown information for assessors.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, service providers and insurers.
• Develop and implement improved financial processes and internal controls.
