Job summary

ASC Connections in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead a small finance team, report to the CEO, and ensure robust financial management, accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified (QBE considered) with strong technical accounting skills and excellent communication to influence senior leadership and the Board.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification required; exceptional QBE candidates considered.
• Experience leading finance teams and providing strategic financial leadership.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and UK statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts for internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and analyse weekly sales, margin and performance reports.
• Manage month-end processes including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Deliver variance analysis and financial reporting to support CEO and Board decisions.
• Monitor and control budgets across the business.
• Lead forecasting, cash flow planning and risk analysis.
• Reconcile VAT, import duties and related tax liabilities; prepare VAT returns.
• Maintain strong financial controls and audit-ready records.
• Coordinate monthly payroll with external provider.
• Support year-end accounts and statutory filing deadlines.
