Job summary

Cherry Professional is exclusively supporting a multi-entity organisation recruiting a Financial Controller in Derbyshire. You will lead a finance team, oversee financial operations, and partner with senior stakeholders to drive performance and governance.

The role offers hybrid working with clear pathway to senior finance leadership. You will own month-end reporting, cash management and controls, while guiding budgeting and forecasting and enabling strategic decision-making across multiple

Qualifications

• Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or qualified by experience.
• Previous experience in Financial Controller/Head of Finance/Finance Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong financial reporting and management accounting expertise.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive approach with deadline-driven mindset.
• Strong systems and Excel capabilities; appetite for process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Oversee timely monthly management information production.
• Own financial reporting, controls and compliance activities.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and balance sheet integrity.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making processes.
• Act as key contact for external advisors, auditors and regulators.
• Drive process improvements and finance operation efficiencies.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide insight and challenge.
