Job summary

Calibre Precision Climate Control Ltd seeks an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function as the business grows. You will oversee day-to-day finance, manage a team of bookkeepers, deliver timely management accounts and provide commercial insight to support management decisions.

The role requires strong project accounting experience, profitability focus, and collaboration with an external accounting firm.

Qualifications

• Qualified professional with recognised accounting qualification (AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Experience leading and developing finance teams in a growth, contract-based business.
• Strong in project accounting (WIP), margin analysis and contract profitability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance team and drive KPIs, control, and payroll excellence.
• Own month-end reporting: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow with variance analysis.
• Manage project accounting including WIP, accruals and CIS compliance.
• Partner with leadership on margins, supplier negotiations and project viability.
• Oversee system improvements and internal controls; liaise with external accountants.
• Ensure VAT, CIS and statutory compliance.
