Job summary

ACCA Careers in Cardiff is seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing finance team supporting a complex, operationally focused organisation undergoing significant transformation.

You will work closely with senior leaders, providing financial insight, challenge and support to drive performance, manage risk and inform decisions, while delivering accurate management information and analysis across key business areas.

Qualifications

• A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience in financial analysis and business partnering.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and reporting tools.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Producing monthly management accounts, financial reports and insightful performance commentary.
• Leading annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow impacts.
• Building strong relationships with budget holders and senior operational stakeholders.
• Conducting regular financial review meetings and acting as the first point of contact for finance support.
• Supporting and challenging stakeholders through the preparation of business cases and investment decisions.
• Presenting financial performance, risks, opportunities and forecast variances to senior management teams.
• Identifying and delivering cost-saving opportunities, efficiencies and process improvements.
• Preparing reconciliations and reviewing financial commitments across assigned areas.
• Supporting year-end audit requirements and responding to auditor queries.
• Delivering ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
