Job summary

Cumberland Council in Carlisle is looking for a permanent finance professional to join the Finance Team. The role covers financial advice, budget setting and monitoring, reporting and forecasting, and developing business cases.

You will work on change projects and support the Capital Programme, building relationships across services through effective business partnering. Hybrid working is available and the role is 37 hours per week.

• Provide financial advice and challenge to managers across a wide range of services
• Support budget setting and monitoring
• Prepare financial reporting and forecasting
• Develop business cases
• Support change projects
• Support the Council's Capital Programme
• Help shape decision-making and improve value for money
• Build working relationships across the organisation through business partnering
• Help colleagues develop their financial management skills
