Job summary

Sky is seeking a Financial Controller to join the A2R Leadership Team in Livingston. You will lead financial reporting, close, and balance sheet control, driving improvements and partnering with key finance and business stakeholders.

You will oversee complex accounting matters, ensure timely, accurate reporting, and develop the finance team, while supporting audit activities and governance across Sky’s UK operations.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
• Strong track record in high-quality financial reporting and analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and financial reporting systems (SAP).
• Proactive, self-starting approach with ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own month-, quarter-, and year-end close with accurate P&L and balance sheet.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations meet control requirements and remediate issues.
• Review results, explain variances, and provide commentary to stakeholders.
• Oversee journals, accruals, provisions, capitalisation, intercompany positions.
• Manage financial controls and support audit processes.
• Lead and develop the finance team, allocating responsibilities.
• Collaborate with Commercial Finance, Finance Ops and Group Reporting.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate finance processes.
• Provide final sign-off for key accounting activities and escalate issues.
