Job description

We are hiring for an exciting opportunity as a Strategic Field Technician to join us permanently.

This role will support the Strategic Network Upgrade program across the South London area. Although predominantly working across South London, you may be required to assist our larger team to achieve KPI targets in North London.

Base location: South West London - Kingston - KT13BW. You will cover a wider area and drive between several sites; therefore, a full clean UK driving licence is required.

Working pattern: 38 hours per week, 07:30 – 15:36, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of Network Upgrade projects, support team members, and cover for projects during leave.
• Support across the Thames Water operational strategic Asset area as needed.
• Support network activities during asset failures, ensuring water quality compliance.
• Minimize and prevent supply interruptions, liaising with customers and resolving issues efficiently.
• Develop relationships with other teams within the business.
• Support Network Asset Maintenance during Network Events and help meet business targets.
• Act as a local network expert for isolation and rezoning, providing risk assessment information and sharing safety information.
• Investigate the water network to resolve issues like high/low pressure, leakage, and metering queries.

Candidate requirements:

• Good knowledge of water networks is desirable.
• Understanding of Water Network Standards and best practices.
• Relevant water network experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently within SLAs.
• Ability to manage overtime fairly and reportably.
• Competent with IT systems, GIS, Z-One, Sample Manager, MS Teams.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail skills.
