Central Employment is recruiting an experienced Export Control & Security Lead to own export compliance and security activities within a highly regulated engineering environment. You will work with teams handling sensitive technology to ensure controls are maintained across products, information and international activity.

Key scope includes governance, licensing, risk management and internal guidance to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in export control, security, trade compliance or a closely related discipline.
• Knowledge of UK export control requirements and controlled technology.
• Experience working in a regulated or security‑sensitive environment.
• Strong governance and compliance process knowledge.
• Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and provide practical guidance to different areas.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience relating to military or dual‑use products and technology.
• Experience liaising with government, regulatory or external security bodies.
• Experience supporting security or export compliance within an engineering or manufacturing organisation.

• Take ownership of export control and security compliance activities across the business.
• Support compliance relating to controlled and dual‑use technology.
• Manage and support export licensing requirements.
• Maintain appropriate security governance, policies and processes.
• Support the organisation's security responsibilities and requirements.
• Provide guidance to internal teams on export control and security matters.
• Work with external and regulatory bodies where required.
• Identify, assess and manage risks relating to controlled information and technology.
• Support ongoing improvement of security and compliance processes.
• Maintain records and documentation to demonstrate compliance.
