Job summary

Filtronic seeks an experienced Export Control and Security Lead to own security governance and drive export control compliance across the business. You will oversee FSC/IPSA approvals and coordinate with government and regulatory bodies to ensure UK and international obligations are met.

You will implement practical policies, manage licences, and support audits while collaborating with Engineering, Procurement and Operations to embed robust control plans.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading export control and security compliance.
• Proven ability to manage FSC and IPSA approvals.
• Strong liaison with government, regulatory and industry bodies.

Responsibilities

• Act as Security Controller, owning security governance and FSC/IPSA upkeep.
• Maintain relationships with MOD, ISAC and other bodies on legislation and standards.
• Lead the export control and compliance framework for controlled goods and tech.
• Oversee licences, monitor conditions and records for controlled transfers.
• Develop and maintain security, export control policies and guidance.
• Prepare for regulatory audits and address findings promptly.
• Promote awareness of security/export rules across functions.
• Drive improvements to reduce risk and ensure readiness for audits.
• Maintain awareness of EU/US regimes (ITAR/EAR) where relevant.
