Job summary

Filtronic is seeking an experienced Export Control and Security Lead to own governance and lead the export control and security compliance framework. Reporting to the Director of QEHSS, you will manage FSC/IPSA approvals and build relationships with government and industry bodies to ensure compliant handling of controlled goods and dual-use technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience in export control, security or compliance in regulated environments.
• Knowledge of UK export control requirements and management of controlled, military and dual-use goods, software and technology.
• Experience managing or supporting security clearance processes and governance arrangements.
• Experience working with government departments, regulators or industry bodies.
• Understanding of export licensing, licence conditions, end-use requirements and destination considerations.
• Awareness of ITAR and EAR principles in international regimes.
• Experience preparing for audits, inspections and assurance activities.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex requirements clearly across functions.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to risk and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Act as Filtronic’s Security Controller and oversee FSC and IPSA approvals.
• Maintain relationships with MoD, ISAC and other bodies and stay updated on legislation.
• Lead export control and security compliance framework, identifying and exporting controlled goods and tech.
• Oversee export licences, conditions, records and end-use risks; ensure compliance evidence.
• Develop and maintain security, export control policies and guidance.
• Prepare for regulatory audits and assurance activities and address findings.
• Promote awareness of security/export requirements across the organisation.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, facilities, systems and controls.
