Job summary

Thistle Heathrow is seeking an energetic Event Business Development Manager to drive new Meetings, Events & Groups business. You’ll forge relationships with local businesses, agencies and planners, converting conversations into booked events and group stays.

You’ll work with Sales, Meetings & Events, Revenue and operations to tailor proposals that win across Heathrow and the wider market. Based at the hotel, you’ll travel to meet clients, attend events and actively prospect new opportunities,

Qualifications

• Experience in Meetings & Events sales or hotel sales.
• Proven track record of generating new business and building a healthy pipeline.
• Strong knowledge of the Meetings, Events & Groups market and how clients source venues.
• Proactive prospecting with confidence to open doors and build relationships.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate activity into revenue.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with client engagement at multiple levels.
• Experience using a CRM system to manage activity and pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new Meetings, Events & Groups business for Thistle Heathrow.
• Build relationships with local and regional businesses, agencies and event planners.
• Create and maintain a targeted new business pipeline and identify opportunities.
• Understand Heathrow and local market dynamics to spot opportunities.
• Engage with decision makers to convert opportunities into booked events.
• Conduct client appointments, calls, networking and site visits.
• Showcase meeting spaces and guest experience to agents and clients.
• Collaborate with Sales, Meetings & Events, Revenue and operations to align proposals with strategy.
• Record activity in Salesforce and provide sales forecasts and updates.
