Job summary

British Transport Police is seeking an experienced Event Planner to join the Force Planning Unit. You will plan and coordinate football and Level 2 events, produce plans and Operational Orders, and work with Event Commanders and operational teams to ensure events run smoothly.

You will provide real-time support to senior command teams during events and incidents, adapting to changing priorities and maintaining clear decision records.

Qualifications

• Educated to a minimum of A-level standard, or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, work to challenging deadlines and provide effective support in time-critical situations.
• Experience of building and maintaining positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, alongside the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organisational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with experience of contingency planning and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating football and Level 2 events, producing high-quality plans, Operational Orders and associated documentation.
• Working closely with Event Commanders, Bronze Commanders and key stakeholders throughout planning, delivery and debrief stages.
• Liaising with railway industry partners, intelligence colleagues and resource planning teams to reflect current requirements and intelligence.
• Providing real-time support to Gold, Silver and Bronze Commanders during planned events and incidents, maintaining contingencies and decision records.
