British Transport Police (BTP) invites applications for a Resource Planning Manager within the Force Planning Unit in Manchester. You will lead the operational activities of the FRPU, ensuring resources are deployed effectively to support frontline policing, major events, and critical incidents.

The role requires proven team management within a large operational setting, plus strong stakeholder engagement and analytical abilities to guide timely decisions.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of managing teams in a large, multi-disciplined operational organisation.
• Experience in performance management, coaching and mentoring customer-facing teams.
• Strong Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to analyse data, provide operational advice and lead responses to time-critical incidents.

Responsibilities

• Providing operational leadership to the Force Resource Planning Unit and managing the performance and development of Resource Planning Officers.
• Overseeing resource allocation for policing operations, football matches, major events and critical incidents, ensuring operational demand is met effectively.
• Working collaboratively with divisions and stakeholders to maximise available resources, maintain operational resilience and support frontline policing activity.
• Acting in support of the Force Resource Lead to provide specialist resource management advice and fulfil Bronze Resources responsibilities for planned and unplanned events.
