Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Road Freight Planner in Dartford to coordinate European rail? road movements and optimise fleet utilisation while delivering excellent customer service.

You will work with owner drivers and subcontractors to ensure profitable, efficient international freight movements and contribute to improving margins. The role requires experience in road freight operations, strong organisation and communication skills, and knowledge of UK/European networks.

Qualifications

• Experience in road freight transport operations or transport planning.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of UK and European road freight networks.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate European collections and deliveries according to customer needs.
• Manage movements through a network of owner drivers and subcontractors.
• Maximise vehicle utilisation and reduce empty miles.
• Monitor transport activity and resolve operational issues.
• Build relationships with drivers, subcontractors and customers.
• Collaborate with planning teams to drive efficiencies and cost control.
• Support margin improvement and freight forwarding opportunities.
• Maintain transport, pricing and customer data in internal systems.
• Assist KPI reporting and performance monitoring.
• Handle invoice queries and ensure accurate system updates.
