Job summary

Schroders is seeking a Head of Enterprise Architecture to define and govern our global technology strategy, target architectures and operating model. You will advise the CTO and senior stakeholders, lead the architecture for major initiatives including Nuveen integration, and shape clear governance and reuse across platforms.

You will build and guide a high-performing EA team, set decision rights, and ensure delivery aligns with risk, compliance and business goals.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading Enterprise Architecture in a large, complex organisation.
• Proven track record defining enterprise technology strategies and target states.
• Ability to influence technology investment and transformation decisions at executive level.
• Broad knowledge across architecture domains: apps, data, cloud, security, infrastructure.
• Practical experience with portfolio, lifecycle and technical debt management.
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations and enterprise transformations.
• Knowledge of operating models across product, platform, agile and project delivery.
• Familiarity with AI governance and emerging technologies.
• Experience with EA repositories/tooling (Orbus Infinity preferred).
• Strong leadership and communication, coaching senior architects.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain Enterprise Architecture strategy, operating model and target-state direction.
• Advise CTO and senior stakeholders on strategy, investments and transformation priorities.
• Lead architecture work for acquisitions and Nuveen integration across capabilities and data.
• Govern Architecture Review Board and enterprise governance framework.
• Establish standards, reference architectures and reusable patterns across cloud, data and apps.
• Provide oversight for significant investments, risk and remediation plans.
• Lead application rationalisation, lifecycle governance and technical debt reduction.
• Promote data quality and architecture information management using enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with Platform and Domain Architects to align roadmaps with enterprise direction.
• Define governance for AI-enabled products, including security and operational readiness.
• Lead capability-building within the Enterprise Architecture team and wider community.
