SSE plc is seeking a Group Head of Architecture to lead architecture across SSE at a pivotal transformation. You will shape and maintain the Group-wide architecture direction, set principles and guardrails, and ensure major technology choices and investments align with business strategy and resilient operation.

This role requires executive leadership to build the architecture profession, set governance, develop collaboration with CIOs and business leaders, and modernise with architecture-as-code

Qualifications

• Executive-level experience leading architecture or an enterprise technology function in a large, federated organisation.
• Proven ability to translate business strategy into enterprise capabilities and roadmaps.
• Broad technical expertise across enterprise and solution architecture, including cloud and networks.
• Experience delivering transformation, governance and architecture-as-code practices.

Responsabilités

• Own SSE's Group-wide architecture direction, connecting business capabilities, platforms and operations.
• Set direction for Heads of Architecture across units and functions to align roadmaps and investments.
• Oversee architecture governance, standards and guardrails to enable delivery.
• Build trusted relationships with CIOs and business leaders to inform decisions.
• Modernise the architecture function with automation, architecture-as-code and AI-assisted analysis.
• Lead and develop SSE's architecture profession and community.
