Job summary

Orion Electrotech is seeking an experienced Buyer for a 3 to 6 month assignment in a busy engineering and manufacturing environment in the UK. The role supports the Supply Chain function by ensuring materials, components and services are purchased efficiently, cost-effectively and delivered on time to meet business demands.

You will work with Operations, Engineering, Projects, Quality and Finance to manage supplier relationships, purchasing administration, stock control and material

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing within engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Experience using ERP and MRP systems.
• Good understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage and expedite purchase orders through ERP/MRP.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure continuity of supply.
• Analyse purchasing data, supplier performance and spending trends.
• Source materials and estimate project costs with Operations/Projects.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct supplier performance reviews.
