Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Nottingham is seeking an experienced Buyer for a temporary 3–6 month contract to support the Supply Chain team in an engineering/manufacturing environment. You will handle procurement, supplier management and stock control to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities include PO management in ERP/MRP, negotiations with suppliers, and data analysis to drive continuous improvement. Full UK driving licence and BOM understanding are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experienced in purchasing within engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and BOM concepts.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create, manage and expedite purchase orders via ERP/MRP.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure supply continuity.
• Analyze purchasing data and supplier performance.
• Source materials with Operations/Projects and estimate costs.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct reviews.
• Resolve supplier quality issues and purchasing queries.
• Maintain ERP/MRP data and records.
• Support continuous improvement across the supply chain.
• Adhere to company purchasing procedures and quality standards.
