Job summary

National Energy System Operator (NESO) is seeking a Strategic Engagement Lead to collaborate with the Head of Wales and Head of Engagement for Strategic Projects. You will drive a strategic engagement framework, lead cross-programme activity and shape outcomes at the senior level.

You will manage relationships with senior stakeholders, develop governance, and deliver insight to influence strategic direction within NESO and SEP. Excellent communication and advisory credibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex engagement across programmes or portfolios.
• Ability to operate at system level and influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience identifying and mitigating strategic engagement risk.
• Ability to coach and develop others.
• Credibility to represent the organisation in high-profile settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive the design, implementation and continuous improvement of a strategic stakeholder engagement framework aligned to organisational priorities and outcomes.
• Build and sustain a network of senior internal and external stakeholders, shaping decision-making and delivery.
• Lead cross-programme engagement activity, ensuring sequencing and alignment to business priorities and milestones.
• Develop strategic communications and briefings to support senior decision-making and programme influence.
• Create and embed engagement governance frameworks, reporting and risk oversight across SEP and NESO.
