Job summary

Ibstock Plc is seeking an experienced Employee Relations & Policy Manager to lead the delivery of our employee relations service across UK locations. You will provide legally compliant, commercially focused advice to enable confident people decisions while supporting a positive colleague experience.

This role combines complex case management, policy leadership, coaching and data-led improvement, with scope to shape ER practice and governance across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex employee relations in multi-site organisations.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Ability to influence senior managers on complex employment issues.
• Experience with Employment Tribunal preparation and supporting legal proceedings.
• Proven track record building constructive trade union relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and advise on complex, high-risk ER matters across multiple sites.
• Build constructive relationships with unions and employee representatives.
• Lead consultation and negotiation on collective matters and organisational change.
• Support tribunal preparation with external advisers as needed.
• Coach managers to handle ER issues confidently and fairly.
• Design training, toolkits and guidance to raise management capability.
• Develop and implement ER policies reflecting legislation and business needs.
• Analyse case data and translate insights into action for senior leaders.
• Build relationships across operations and People to influence ER strategy and risk.
• Improve ER processes, systems and ways of working.
• Lead and develop the Employee Relations Specialist.
