Job summary

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing in Beeston is seeking an Employee Relations Manager on a fixed-term contract for six months. You will provide expert guidance on complex employment matters, act as the escalation point for People Advisors and Assistants, and ensure timely case management in line with policies and UK law.

You will coach managers, handle ACAS, Employment Tribunal and TUPE matters, oversee case reporting, and drive policy improvements.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ experience at a similar level managing complex employee relations in a customer-focused, multi-disciplinary organisation.
• A relevant HR qualification and CIPD membership.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and proven experience advising managers on complex, high-risk cases from start to finish.
• Experience managing ACAS and Employment Tribunal cases, working with external legal providers and trade unions.
• Experience supporting organisational change, restructures and TUPE activity.
• The confidence to coach managers on performance and conduct matters, handle difficult conversations and remain objective in conflict situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert, practical advice and guidance on complex employment matters across MTVH.
• Act as the technical escalation point for People Advisors and Assistants, ensuring timely case management.
• Oversee case management, reporting and use trends to inform policy and learning interventions.
• Coach managers through complex and high-risk cases, including ACAS, Tribunal and TUPE matters.
• Collaborate with Heads of People, external legal providers and trade unions to identify risks and achieve fair outcomes.
