Job summary

BDO in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Employee Relations Manager to provide expert ER advice and commercially focused solutions across the business. You will advise on disciplinary and grievance matters, manage complex cases from start to finish, and partner with HR leaders and senior managers to balance legal risk with business objectives.

The role requires strong judgement, data-driven decision making and the ability to influence outcomes across a fast-paced professional services

Qualifications

• Experience in Employee Relations with case management and policy focus.
• Experience handling high‑risk ER matters balancing legal, commercial and reputational considerations.
• Proven stakeholder management skills influencing senior levels.
• Ability to use data and MI to drive improvements and decision‑making.
• Experience leading projects, process improvements and policy changes.
• Strong documentation and concise recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Experience coaching HR and business stakeholders to raise capability.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert employee relations advice across the business.
• Advise on disciplinary and grievance matters and manage complex cases end‑to‑finish.
• Partner with HR and business leaders to align risk with objectives.
• Lead or support policy changes, process improvements and legislative monitoring.
• Coach ER Advisors and assist in building capability across teams.
• Develop practical guidance that reduces risk and informs decisions.
