Job summary

The Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group invites a senior midwifery leader to shape maternity and perinatal services across three hospitals. You will drive strategic direction, governance and safety, reporting to the Group Chief Nurse and collaborating with IC System, regulators and regional networks.

Applicants will hold an NMC-registered midwife credential with a master's-level qualification, and have experience as Director or Head of Midwifery, delivering system leadership and

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent academic achievement.
• Education or mentorship qualification.
• Current NMC registration as a registered midwife.
• Experience as Director or Head of Midwifery and senior clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and professional leadership for maternity and perinatal care across the Group.
• Lead transformation, service improvement and delivery of national maternity priorities.
• Provide assurance on quality, safety, governance, risk and regulatory compliance.
• Champion co-production with women, families and communities to shape services.
• Develop midwifery leadership, workforce and succession pipelines.
• Represent the Group at regional forums and across networks.
• Drive innovation, research, education and spread of best practice.
• Translate national policy into local delivery with equity and sustainability.
