Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Director of Financial Management to lead our central financial management function. This Band 9 leadership role combines strategic direction with technical financial oversight across budgeting, forecasting, reporting and income management.

You will work with the Deputy CFO, influence senior stakeholders and drive financial improvement programmes to support sustainable patient care and value for money across the Trust.

Qualifications

• CCAB qualified accountant (or evidence of equivalent skills and experience).
• Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience.
• Evidence of significant continuing professional development relevant to senior financial leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting and consolidated reporting across Trust portfolios.
• Ensure NHS England returns are accurate, timely and robust.
• Oversee clinical income reporting and contract submissions; advise on NHS payment arrangements.
• Support budget holders to deliver corrective actions and drive financial stewardship.
• Lead and develop senior finance teams; contribute to productivity and transformation programmes.
