Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a senior Development lead within the Planning discipline in the UK. You will shape client solutions, lead technical teams across civil design, and drive growth for Southampton and the Southwest to Southeast region.

This role emphasizes client-facing work, strategic direction, and mentoring, with responsibility for bids, coordination across offices, and safeguarding SHEQ while delivering major projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and visible leadership for the Development team.
• Coordinate with Technical Leadership Group to promote innovation and best practices.
• Drive business development and secure major opportunities with key accounts.
• Lead bids, review submissions, and demonstrate value commercially and technically.
• Act as Project Manager or Director for major projects and important commissions.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance and mentor selected colleagues in succession and talent programs.
• Collaborate with Regional Director to shape local team structures and skills.
