WSP is seeking a senior civil engineering leader to drive Growth in Scotland and nationally, with a strong focus on client facing activities and technical leadership. You will help shape the Development discipline, win major opportunities and build a diverse, capable team across the UK.

The role emphasizes strategic direction, responsibility for bids, and mentoring talent while aligning with WSP values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Inter-personal skills with good leadership and management abilities.
• Commercial and strategic capability with track record in delivering new business opportunities.
• Expert stakeholder management and related relationship and team management skills.
• Ability to communicate, coach others, and lead change programmes.
• Degree level qualification in civil engineering; chartered or working towards chartership.
• A broad range of project experience across civil design for developments.

Responsibilities

• Providing strategic direction and highly visible leadership.
• Exhibiting and demonstrating behaviours in accordance with WSP core values.
• Working in partnership with colleagues to coordinate across Development and share market intelligence.
• Engaging with the Technical Leadership Group to promote innovation and best practice.
• Liaising with the DTL to set local team structures and skills.
• Driving business development by embedding in local networks and securing opportunities.
• Leading bids by reviewing submissions and adding value commercially and technically.
• Acting as Project Manager or Director for major projects.
• Supporting H&S and Corporate Responsibility across the team.
• Mentoring selected colleagues on succession and emerging talent schedules.
