Responsible and accountable for driving and delivering the business strategy and operational outcomes for the Global Trading and Market Data (GTMD) business. Working alongside the General Manager, Risk and Operations, this role will develop the strategy for GTMD, to set the business direction for maximum capture of new revenue, sustained growth, and optimisation as aligned with our four important pillars, all underpinned with our Foundations to keep us on track through ongoing building and maintenance with our Clients, our People and Risk Management.
Providing key support to GTMD, this role is also accountable for assisting to set strategy across the vertical, bringing both an outside-in perspective (bringing in future market analysis, competitor analysis) and an inside-out perspective (business performance, strategic / transformation risk management, portfolio analysis, operating model analysis).
The role will assist to inform the strategic direction of all GTMD teams, working in collaboration to set strategic agendas and operational risk frameworks. You will be a leader and mentor, influencing and facilitating communication and collaboration to help prevent organisational silos and ensure all teams are aligned to the business strategy, risk management & Iress culture.

Responsible for supporting GTMD’s strategy that takes innovative propositions to market, meeting both business and client needs and driving strong profitability
Identify trends in target and emerging markets and segments and align strategy and prioritisation
Expert analysis of market dynamics, competitor landscape and product line performance
Identify and mitigate strategic risk
Embed a whole of business approach to driving execution with rigour and discipline
Advocate and communicate Iress’s strategy to internal and external audiences
Understand market trends to ensure Iress continues to lead clients, users and the industry
Drive a culture of client focus, service excellence, collective team ownership of outcomes and organisational efficiency
Deliver marketing and thought leadership initiatives, including as a spokesperson where required, in collaboration with the communications & marketing team
Strategic, commercial and able to contribute to broader business conversations
Able to communicate in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner
A modern thinker who looks to the future while ensuring commercial and strategic outcomes are achieved in the present
Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Deep understanding and knowledge of Industry practices, business environment and technology requirements
What you will bring:
Demonstrable experience of meeting or exceeding commercial, client and end user expectations
Experience in dealing with the daily internal and external challenges that affect financial, reputational and market success. Proven ability to identify trends in target markets and segments and align to strategy and prioritisation
Deep knowledge of the GTMD market
Demonstrable experience in defining and executing strategies to enable and accelerate business goals, with first-class commercial and financial acumen
Extensive experience influencing internally and externally. Hands-on experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships with third party vendors and partners
Clearly and consistently communicates key priorities and how they link to the overall strategy for growth. Considers possibilities, options and emerging trends; brings fresh thinking and innovative approaches to ensure continued success
Energises and drives a team to perform at the highest standard. Openly monitors performance and risk management against clear objectives and performance targets. Promotes ownership and accountability to ensure that tasks are successfully delivered
Continuously improving and innovating what the company does to make things simple and easy for customers and within the organisation
Demonstrates the ability to think deeply and quantitatively about business problems, breaking down problems and presenting solutions while evaluating the pros and cons of each option. Probes easily and deeply into important details, on complex financial or quantitative issues. Breaks down problems skillfully and in various ways to ensure that “no stone is left unturned”. Builds analytical and quantitative problem solving into an organisation-wide trait. Utilises key third-party experts effectively in the appropriate unfamiliar situations
