Job summary

SIX in London is seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead data architecture across Financial Information products. You will design canonical data models, define metadata standards and enable AI-friendly data access while ensuring regulatory alignment.

You will partner with delivery teams and IT Architecture to translate complex data concepts into scalable data products, working with APIs, data lakes, and schemas to deliver value for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data modelling or data architecture within financial services.
• Proficiency in UML data modelling tools such as Sparx EA (ideally), Erwin, PowerDesigner or similar.
• Strong understanding of the financial data domain: securities reference data, corporate actions, market data, and regulatory classifications.
• Understanding of API design principles (REST, GraphQL) and schema evolution strategies for backward compatibility.
• Fluent in English (verbal & writing). German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain the technology-agnostic, business-aligned canonical/conceptual data models for Financial Information, defining class definitions, standards and association semantics.
• Provide data architecture expertise to all delivery teams to ensure robust data products that meet customer expectations and support maintenance and enhancement.
• Develop and maintain design, naming conventions, dictionaries, lineage and metadata standards, collaborating with data quality teams.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to translate complex data concepts into robust data products that customers want to purchase and contribute to architectural governance.
• Support the evolution of data distribution models, including API-first delivery and AI data access enablement.
