Job summary

Currie & Brown invites an associate cost consultant to join our Glasgow office. You will support project leaders with high-quality delivery, assist with cost management, and help share knowledge across projects across notable schemes in Scotland.

Ideal candidates hold a BSc in Quantity Surveying with MRICS and demonstrable private commercial sector experience, including offices, residential, and major projects, using CostX and Power BI for carbon assessment and data insights.

Qualifications

• BSc in quantity surveying or equivalent.
• MRICS membership is preferred.
• Private commercial sector experience in offices, residential, hospitality, major projects, fit out or refurb.
• Proficient CostX or other Cost Planning software.
• Sustainability and data skills, e.g., carbon assessment and Power BI.
• Contract administration skills.
• Pre and post-contract experience.

Responsibilities

• Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to clients.
• Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments.
• Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities as a proactive team player.
• Maintaining effective communication for successful project completion; liaising with managers for financial control.
• Undertaking commercial management services with limited supervision.
• Delivering all outputs accurately and on time.
• Providing support to the team leader in cost management of projects.
• Representing the company professionally; meeting and negotiating with clients.
