Job summary

Currie & Brown is seeking an Assistant Cost Manager to join our cost management team in the UK. You will work with experienced professionals, delivering high-quality services while developing technical and commercial knowledge.

You’ll gain exposure to cost plans, estimates, tender documentation, valuations and procurement activities, with support towards RICS chartership and clear progression opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline, or working towards completing one.
  • Some experience in a quantity surveying or cost management role, either through work placements or employment.
  • Interest in pursuing professional membership with RICS.
  • Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications;CostX and other cost management software experience is a plus.
  • Good report writing and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of cost plans, estimates and reports.
  • Assist with cost management and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Help prepare tender documentation and contract information.
  • Help project leaders in delivering successful projects.
  • Attend client, contractor and project meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of valuations and cost reporting.
  • Help monitor project budgets and expenditure.
  • Assist with procurement and tender evaluation activities.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
  • Learn and apply industry best practice and company procedures.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects across a range of sectors.
