Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Cost Accounting Manager to lead cost accounting and systems, driving IFRS-based recognition, automation and strong controls across the organisation.

The role reports to the Global Financial Controller and collaborates with IS, Legal, FP&A and Commercial Business Systems to standardise processes. It is home-based in EMEA with an option to base in our London office.

Qualifications

• CPA/ACCA with IFRS experience
• Experience in cost accounting processes and cost recognition
• Leadership experience managing a team
• Experience with ERP/financial systems including procurement and expense management
• Multi-country, multi-currency operations experience
• Strong written and spoken English skills
• Willingness to travel as required

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Procurement, Commercial Systems, Operations, Legal and FP&A to design scalable cost management and reporting processes; drive end-to-end automation in NetSuite
• Incorporate best practices and AI to raise reporting speed and accuracy
• Lead and develop a team of cost accounting and systems accounting professionals
• Support month-end cost close, reconciliations and fluctuation analysis
• Develop internal controls over cost transactions and reporting
• Prepare accounting memos on significant cost recognition and policy matters
• Coordinate with external auditors on purchase-to-pay matters
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements while managing cost risks
