Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a high-calibre senior leader to shape and lead the new Corporate Business Operations & Support function during a period of transformation. The role offers significant visibility across the organisation and requires steering a large corporate service with responsibilities including governance, FOI coordination and organisational processes.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience within a large public sector or similarly complex organisation.
• Experience leading large, diverse operational or corporate support functions and delivering high-quality services at scale.
• Experience designing and implementing modern operating models and standardising services.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance, business operations, organisational processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading service transformation and the use of digital technology and automation.

Responsabilités

• Lead the Council’s Corporate Business Operations & Support function, providing visible leadership to a large corporate service.
• Develop and embed a modern corporate business support operating model with clear standards and flexible resource deployment.
• Strengthen coordination and governance ensuring meetings, forward plans and actions are visible.
• Lead executive support, member enquiries and civic activity for senior leaders and elected members.
• Oversee Freedom of Information coordination ensuring statutory compliance and standards.
• Drive process and systems improvements to simplify activity and improve efficiency and customer experience.
• Champion digital technology, automation and management information to improve productivity.
• Build a resilient, professional, customer-focused function with adaptable capacity.
• Provide authoritative advice on corporate operations and governance, with strong assurance arrangements.
