Job summary

Cardo Group is a leading UK building maintenance and retrofit provider seeking a Communications Manager. You will lead internal comms, press activity, and the corporate tone across a 1,500+ employee organisation to support growth and a strong reputation.

You will develop multi-channel internal communications, support executive messaging, and govern external communications to ensure consistent, concise and impactful messaging aligned with our values.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in internal or corporate communications.
• Experience in large, multi-site organisations.
• Experience managing senior stakeholders and executive communications.
• Strong press and media writing experience.
• Experience developing communication strategies and governance frameworks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing ability.
• Strategic thinking with operational delivery focus.
• Crisis communications experience.
• Experience in housing, construction, property services, or infrastructure sectors.
• Experience supporting organisational growth or transformation.
• Knowledge of ESG and corporate reporting communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a structured internal communications plan.
• Ensure clear, timely and consistent communication from leadership to all employees.
• Support employee engagement through multi-channel communications.
• Translate business strategy into accessible messaging for frontline and office teams.
• Support senior leaders with internal communications and key announcements.
• Manage external press announcements and corporate statements.
• Draft and coordinate communications for contracts, milestones and updates.
• Act as the main point of contact for media and external communications.
• Protect and enhance the organisation’s external reputation through controlled messaging.
• Own and maintain the corporate tone of voice and messaging guidelines.
• Align internal, press, and leadership communications across the business.
• Support strategic campaigns that align with growth and reputation.
