Hitachi Rail UK Limited in Newton Aycliffe is looking for a commercially minded Commodity Manager to own a portfolio of commodities across Rolling Stock manufacturing, service and maintenance. You will manage the full source-to-contract lifecycle and work with stakeholders to influence sourcing decisions and secure robust commercial agreements.

You’ll engage in developing commodity plans, evaluating supplier proposals, and negotiating terms while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and value

Qualifications

• Proven commodity management experience.
• Experience in manufacturing or service & maintenance environment.
• Strong supplier negotiation skills and contractual provisions.
• Good understanding of contract law and drafting.
• Knowledge of SAP including POs, Material Master, PIR, contract management.
• Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management tools.

Responsabilités

• Develop and deliver commodity plans aligned to category strategy.
• Develop procurement and sourcing strategies for new contract opportunities.
• Identify, assess and establish suitable suppliers.
• Lead sourcing events including RFX and e-auctions.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and provide recommendations.
• Lead commercial negotiations from terms to award.
• Support material and vendor setup within ERP/MRP systems.
