Job summary

Hitachi Rail UK Limited is seeking a Commodity Manager to own a portfolio across Rolling Stock manufacturing, service and maintenance. You will lead sourcing, supplier evaluation and contract awards, working with stakeholders to secure commercially effective agreements.

You will develop commodity plans, run RFX events, negotiate terms, and manage supplier performance across ERP/MRP systems, SAP knowledge essential. Travel to UK locations including London and Newton Aycliffe may be required.

Qualifications

• Evidence of commodity management experience.
• Experience negotiating contracts and terms.
• Strong understanding of supplier relationships and procurement cycles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver commodity plans aligned to category strategy.
• Lead sourcing events including RFX and e-auctions.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and provide recommendations to the business.
• Lead commercial negotiations from terms through award.
• Support material and vendor set-up within ERP/MRP systems.
• Lead contract handovers with Manufacturing, Service & Maintenance teams.
• Conduct supplier performance and risk reviews.
• Collaborate with Operations Procurement to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
