Job summary

Hitachi Rail UK Limited is seeking a Commodity Manager to join our Procurement function, responsible for a portfolio of commodities across Rolling Stock Manufacturing, Service and Maintenance.

You will manage the full source-to-contract lifecycle, craft commodity and sourcing plans, evaluate suppliers, lead negotiations and ensure robust commercial agreements to support operations. This role offers a hybrid working model and cross-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in commodity management or equivalent procurement role.
• Experience in manufacturing or service/maintenance environments.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Knowledge of contract law and CLM tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver commodity plans aligned to category strategy.
• Lead sourcing events including RFX and e-auctions.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and provide recommendations.
• Lead commercial negotiations from terms to award.
• Support ERP/MRP material and vendor setup.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet delivery targets.
