Metro Bank in Holborn, Greater London, is seeking a Credit Partner for Commercial Banking lending decisions up to £5m. You will exercise lending authority, assess risk, and support growth with strong customer understanding.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within Commercial Banking, including exercising personal lending authority and making credit decisions.
• Strong knowledge of commercial lending, banking and finance, including relevant legal and regulatory considerations.
• Excellent stakeholder management, collaboration and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Commercial Banking lending propositions up to £5m, exercising personal lending authority and presenting more complex cases for higher-level approval.
• Maintain strong lending asset quality through prudent credit assessment, portfolio management, and proactive identification of emerging risks.
• Ensure compliance with Metro Bank’s lending policies, standards, procedures, and credit risk governance requirements.
• Build strong relationships with Commercial Banking leaders and colleagues, providing challenge, influence, coaching, and support across teams.
• Manage workflows efficiently to deliver timely, high-quality lending decisions and support the Bank’s growth objectives.
• Promote the Metro Bank approach to lending, combining strong customer understanding with deep product, sector, and repayment source knowledge.
• Contribute to the development of Credit Policy, Standards, Procedures, and wider credit risk initiatives while supporting the development of less experienced colleagues.
