Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Account Manager to oversee client accounts and support day-to-day accounting and compliance tasks.

The role requires strong bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and financial reporting knowledge, with experience in an accountancy practice or finance environment. You will manage multiple clients, deadlines and rely on accounting software like Xero/QuickBooks/Sage.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice or finance environment.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and financial reporting.
• Proficient with accounting software (Xero/QuickBooks/Sage).

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of client accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
• Complete bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and support HMRC compliance.
• Assist with payroll processing where required.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and client transactions.
• Support year-end accounts and audit preparation.
• Review financial information and investigate discrepancies.
• Act as a key point of contact for client accounting queries and build/maintain strong professional client relationships.
• Support clients with accounting software and financial documentation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, HMRC requirements and internal procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.
