Job summary

Civil Engineering Contractor in Glasgow is seeking a Business Development Manager with a design background to join the Pre-Construction team. Move from design delivery to client-facing, commercially focused work while leveraging technical expertise.

The role involves frequent travel across Scotland and the UK for meetings and industry engagements. We are keen to speak with individuals who understand how infrastructure projects are developed and delivered and want to influence early project

Qualifications

• Strong civil engineering design or design management background.
• Experience on infrastructure or major construction projects.
• Understanding of how projects are developed, bid, and secured.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Interest in client engagement, business development, and strategic growth.
• Confidence presenting technical solutions in a commercial environment.
• Strong organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Teams, and CRM systems.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage client relationships across Scotland and the wider UK.
• Identify opportunities and help secure future work in the early project lifecycle.
• Present technical solutions in a commercial environment.
• Collaborate with pre-construction and design teams.
• Travel regularly for client meetings, networking events, and industry engagements.
