Job summary

Praxis Care is recruiting a Head of Operations for the Greater Belfast Area to oversee residential, domiciliary, and day services for vulnerable adults and children with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

The role requires strategic leadership, budget stewardship, and collaboration with regional directors to drive quality care and regulatory compliance within Northern Ireland.

Qualifications

• Essential: Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role in a health and social care setting.
• Essential: Must be registered with the appropriate body within the first six months of employment.
• Desirable: Demonstrable project management experience.
• Desirable: Experience in policy review and refinement.
• Desirable: Knowledge of accredited quality systems (e.g., ISO).
• Desirable: Understanding of the legislative and regulatory environment affecting care provision in Northern Ireland.
• Desirable: Knowledge of the local commissioning and provider environment in Northern Ireland concerning care services for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all work within Praxis Care is people-focused, respecting privacy, dignity, fulfilment, independence and choice.
• Act as advocate for people we support; oversee assessment care plans and reviews on a needs-led basis.
• Provide leadership, supervision and management of staff; ensure projects are fully staffed and within budget.
• Assist the Regional Director of Care with project development, initial management and policy formulation.
• Participate in annual budgets and monitor budget adjustments via the accounts system.
• Liaise with carers, professional staff, voluntary bodies and community groups to meet clients’ needs.
• Participate in committees and working groups as appropriate.
