Job summary

London Gatwick is seeking a Senior Capacity Planning Analyst to shape the airport's long-term growth strategy. You will develop advanced forecasting, modelling and scenario-planning solutions that influence major infrastructure investments and capacity decisions across the airport.

This role collaborates with senior leaders, operational teams and external stakeholders to ensure data-driven decisions support sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in Aerospace Engineering, Operational Research, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and reasoning skills.
• Experience developing mathematical models to solve real-world problems.
• Proven ability to extract meaningful insights from complex data and translate them into actionable recommendations.
• Strong problem-solving capability and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sophisticated airfield and terminal capacity models that support strategic business decisions.
• Lead forecasting, scenario planning and analytical studies to identify future capacity requirements and growth opportunities.
• Analyse operational processes and performance data to identify efficiencies and improvement opportunities.
• Present findings, recommendations and business cases to senior stakeholders, executive leaders and airline partners.
• Provide expert insight into future airport demand, infrastructure requirements and operational impacts.
• Drive continuous improvement in modelling approaches, analytical standards and planning methodologies.
• Consolidate and interpret complex datasets to support evidence-based decision making.
• Deliver high-quality analytical outputs within agreed project timelines and quality standards.
